5. Chatbox Cookies and IP Address Handling
The Cerka chatbox — implemented on customer websites — uses cookies, but strictly for operational purposes:
Cookies are essential to ensure chat functionality, allowing conversations and sessions to persist across different website visits or page loads.
By default, cookies expire after 24 hours and are refreshed upon return visits to the website.
Each cookie links a user to a unique chat session. If the session contains messages, it is stored 24 hours (unless deleted by a site admin). Otherwise, it expires 24 hours after the last visit.
These cookies are not used for behavioral tracking. Their only function is to manage user sessions for chat purposes.
IP addresses are stored within the session on the server side. If the user leaves without engaging in chat, the session — and the IP address — are automatically removed after 24 hours.
If a user initiates a chat, the IP address is retained 24 hours. Law requires us to log such IPs for at least one year in case of legal inquiries. Additionally, we retain them for longer periods as part of anti-abuse mechanisms to detect and prevent spam and bot attacks, which are essential to maintaining the quality and reliability of the Cerka service.

Cerka strictly prohibits any form of inappropriate or unlawful content. This includes, but is not limited to, offensive language, pornography, threats, or any other content that may be considered abusive, harmful, or in violation of applicable laws.
Users who engage in such activities will be subject to account suspension or permanent removal.
Cerka reserves the right to review and take action against any violations. Confirmed offenders will be removed within 24 hours of detection.
